Sporting Challenges
Sports in Malawi is still compounded with numerous challenges including but not limited to; lack of sporting among individuals and organizations, inadequate financial and material resources and inadequate sporting facilities and well-trained Sports administrators.
Irresponsible alcohol intake, smoking cigarettes, early sexual practices and marriages and drugs and substances abuse are common practices across the youth and the general population.
Effecting Positive Change Through Sports
Compounding to these behaviors as a country, there are few fitness and wellness programs made available to the population. This has resulted in a majority of people to lead sedentary lives resulting in the increase in None Communicable Diseases (NCDs); Hypertension (High BP), arthritis, cardiovascular diseases such as heart attacks, stroke, cancer and diabetes. For example, hypertension alone is estimated to have a prevalence of 33% across the population.
However, different countries have used sports to advocate for different agendas such as promoting good health, education and advocate for policy changes. Sports have also been used as a tool for community development. It has been used to mobilize people and provide different information on HIV and AIDS, Malaria and sexual reproductive health.
Positive Community Impact
Each year, sports promo will be organizing sports events such as sports days and training, it will also organize behavior change programs for athletes and communities. Sports promo will also ensure that advocacy; research and monitoring programs are all included and implemented in the New Year.

As a Board, we would like to request interested individuals, schools, sports clubs, companies and organization to partner with us and support sports promo with relevant resources that will contribute towards the achievement of the set goals and objectives of the organization and take sports in the country to another level.
